A round-up of the latest school news for week ending 06.05.2022
Weekly News
SATs (Statutory Assessment Tests)
Next week is SATs week for children in Year 6. Year 2 SATs will take place throughout week commencing 16 May. You can help your children through the process by ensuring that they have a good night’s sleep and arrive in school in good time.
There will be no guitar or piano lessons during week commencing 9 May.
Sun safety
As we are coming in to the summer months where the weather will start to become warm and sunny (well hopefully anyway!) we need to be aware of how we can keep ourselves safe in the sun. Attached are two fact sheets on sun safety & skin cancer and the wearing of sunglasses.
Can we remind you that children should have a water bottle and a sun hat in school at all times.
It has been brought to our attention that Nivea Kids Sun Cream 50+ contains almond oil. As we have children in school with nut allergies, please can we ask that you avoid using this product on your children in school. Thank you.
Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations
With the help of the PTA we are organising an afternoon of celebrations for the Queens Platinum Jubilee. This will take place towards the end of week commencing 23 May, final date and time to be confirmed. We are hoping to have a cake stall, raffle and a tombola as part of this and will be asking for donations.
We will also be having some commemorative tea towels printed that the children have designed and these will be on sale during the last week of May.
Dare to be different day
On Friday 20th May, we are holding a ‘Dare to be Different Day’ where the children can come to school dressed in clothing of their own choice, have their hair a different colour, dress in fancy dress or wear odd socks etc. in return we would ask for a donation towards the Jubilee tombola or raffle. Thank you in anticipation of your support.
