Weekly News
Viewing children’s work in school
Due to the number of Covid cases we still have in school, we have made the decision not to invite parents in to school before half term. Once we are past this peak in cases we can offer a date for you to come in and view your child’s work. Thank you for your understanding.
Children’s Mental Health Week
As you know, this week is Children’s Mental Health Week. Tomorrow, 11 February, we would like the children to ‘Dress to Express’ and donate £1 to Place2Be. They could wear their favourite colour or a unique outfit to express how they’re feeling – it can be as simple or elaborate as you like!
Dress to Express is an opportunity for self-expression and celebrating a diverse range of emotions. The day also provides a great opportunity to be open and start conversations about mental health.
To donate, please follow the link: https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/
World Book Day
Thursday 3 March is World Book Day. Children are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. This year World Book Day is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Defibrillator funding
A message from AC First Aid –
We would like to update you regarding the Wolverton School defibrillator fundraising.
As a result of the first aid sessions and a handful of external donations, we have raised a fantastic £563.50. Thank you so much for your support and contributions.
We hope the children enjoyed the sessions as much as we did. They were all fantastic AC Little Medics, and we know lots and lots of parents have endured the recovery position and a bandage or two because of their new skills.
A few children missed the sessions due to Covid and school are currently sorting a date where we can return and complete another session.
Norton Lindsey Parish Council have very kindly donated £200 towards the device. We realise the school lies just outside of Norton Lindsey Parish, so we are grateful that the Parish Council continue to recognise the contribution of the school to the wider community.
This has brought us very close to the full amount and we only need to raise a further £181.50 to purchase the defibrillator. If anyone is yet to donate, please speak to Mrs Thirlaway or log in to the Schoolcomms Gateway to make a donation. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Emily Stephens
