A round-up of the latest school news for week ending 11.11.2021
All children and staff observed a two minutes silence today to remember those killed in the two world wars and the British servicemen killed or injured since 1945. The children learned about the meaning of Armistice Day and how Poppies became a symbol of World War I.
Next week is anti-bullying week in school. The children will be taking part in special assemblies and activities.
We are in need of some spare tights, pants and skirts in ages 5 to 7 if anyone is having a clear out.
Christmas card artwork fundraiser
A big thank you to everyone who ordered Christmas cards and gifts made with their child’s design. We raised £194 for PTA funds.
Cards, wrapping paper and mugs are all in the school office for you to collect.
PTA 100 Club Draw
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the 100 club, we have sold over 70 numbers helping us to raise lots of money for the school. October’s draw took place on 29th October and the winning number was 49! Congratulations to Diane Horner, Grandma of Evie in Reception, who was our first £25 cash prize winner. The next draw will take place on 26th November. If you know anyone who would like a number or you’d like any additional numbers they are now £9 per number for the remaining 9 draws and online payments can be taken. Please contact Sarah Davies or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your support.
PTA DIY Day
The PTA are holding a DIY day starting at 9.30am this Saturday 13 November. All are welcome to come along and help with DIY jobs around the school. This is a huge help to us as it means funds can be spent on resources for the children instead of repairs and maintenance.
BBC Children in Need
On Friday 19 November, we are having a dress down day for Children in Need. Children can come to school dressed in clothes of their choice in return for a donation to the Children in Need Charity. Donations can be made directly on to the Just Giving Page here: www.justgiving.com/Jane-Thirlaway
