A round-up of the latest school news for week ending 23.09.2021
Due to the low numbers of children wanting guitar lessons, we have been told by Warwickshire Music that they cannot provide lessons for us after half term unless we have a full hours’ worth of teaching. If anyone from Year 2 upwards is interested in learning the guitar, please let Mrs Thirlaway in the office know. Attached is a letter with more details of prices and lengths of lesson etc.
Reception admissions 2022
We are now starting to promote the school for our 2022 intake. If you have a child that is due to start school next year, please let us know. If you have friends, family or neighbours that have pre-school children please let them know about our school. We will be holding an open afternoon via appointment only in October for prospective parents to visit the Reception class and we will be doing a promotional video for our website.
PTA AGM Meeting
Wolverton Parent Teacher Association is holding its next meeting (its AGM) on Thursday 30th Sept in the New Inn Pub, Norton Lindsey from 8pm. Do come along and join us! Helping the PTA is a great way to get involved, meet some other parents and give something back to our wonderful community. As a small village school, Wolverton really relies on the help & support of our parents through the PTA. If you have any time or skills that you would like to contribute please get involved! The friendly PTA team are recruiting for roles large & small so even if you don’t have much time to spare or you don’t want to make a long-term commitment there are many ways that you can make a difference.
We are very pleased to say that Vicki Croucher has been appointed exclusively to us to lead and run both breakfast and after school clubs. Vicki will have a sports coach alongside her for the after-school sports activities. We hope the children enjoy some of the wonderful activities that Vicki has planned and we will have continuity of staff that can get to know the children.
Childcare vouchers – Premier Active are currently experiencing some difficulties with accepting childcare vouchers in payment for their clubs. They are hoping to have this resolved shortly but, in the meantime, they cannot accept any vouchers in payment for childcare clubs.
