A round-up of the latest school news for week ending 16.09.2021
Dear Parents & Carers
Can we please remind everyone of the rules around wearing jewellery/accessories to school. Nail varnish or fake tattoos are not allowed. No Jewellery is to be worn apart from one plain pair of ear studs, no wrist bands, bracelets necklaces etc. The only exception to this is children in Years 5 & 6 are allowed to wear a watch.
Long hair should be tied back using sensible hair bands in school colours of white, blue or black.
Attached is a reminder of the school uniform requirements.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Christmas card fundraiser
As we are still not able to hold our usual fundraising events this term we are excited to announce that once again we will be participating in the Christmas Card Project with Art Projects for Schools Ltd (APFS). The monies raised through your support will go towards PTA funds for the school. The project is also a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate your child’s creativity and the items they make are great to send to family and friends.
The artwork your child has created will be reproduced in full colour onto greetings cards that are available in packs of 12. Additional items will also be available, such as a pack of 6 luxury, gloss-coated cards, gift tags and wrapping paper.
We will be sending your child home with the artwork they have created over the next few weeks, so please keep an eye out for this. On the reverse of their artwork there will be a sticker with a unique code attached to it. To order you will need to visit www.apfsorders.co.uk, and input this unique artwork code, along with your child’s first name and surname. You will then need to hand back your child’s artwork to their class teacher so that it can be sent to APFS for scanning. Orders need to be placed by midnight on Thursday 18 October 2021. If you would like your friends and family to be able to place orders, simply take a picture of the unique code on the back of your child’s artwork and share it with friends and family. Thank you in anticipation of your support.
A reminder that the DIY day takes place this Saturday 18th September. If you would like to join in and help, please come along to school at 9.30 am. Thank you.
We need some new reading books for free reading across the school:
Class 2 – need chapter books (no picture books)
Class 3 & 4 – good fiction stories (but no David Walliams or Diary of A wimpy Kid as we have plenty of copies!)
If anyone is having a clear out and would like to donate some books, please bring them in to the school office. Thank you.

Eye Health Week (20th-26th September)
In support of Eye Health Week, our school nursing service has put together a parent/carer information pack promoting key messages about the importance of regular eye tests and maintaining good eye health in children and young people. Please share this with families as widely as possible:
For National Fitness Day, we’re helping raise awareness of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle through being active. This pack contains ways to get involved, games and activities that can be done in school or sent home with pupils:
