We hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Transition
As part of our normal transition process the children spend an afternoon with their new class teacher during the last week of term. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and in order to ensure the safety of both the children and the staff, we have taken the decision to deliver this session remotely using Microsoft Teams.
In order for the teachers to deliver the transition meetings, the school will be closed for either the whole or part of the day for eligible year groups (Reception, Year 1 and Year 6) on Thursday 9 July.
Pupils of Key Workers who require care provision on Thursday 9 July can still access this. Please contact the school office to confirm that you require a place.
Current Reception pupils:-
The school will be closed for Reception pupils for the whole day on Thursday 9 July to allow for a series of short transition visits for the new Reception intake for September.
Pupils of Key Workers who require care provision on Thursday 9 July can still access this. Please contact the school office to confirm that you require a place.
Year groups 1 and 6:-
The school will be closed for eligible year groups (Year 1 and Year 6) on the afternoon of Thursday 9 July from 12.15.
Pupils of Key Workers who require care provision on Thursday 9 July can still access this. Please contact the school office to confirm that you require a place.
Pupils in Y1 will be able to order and have their school lunch from Baileys as normal before leaving for the afternoon.
Pupils who are moving to a new class or having a new class teacher in September:-
Teachers will arrange remote meetings with individual children or small groups and contact pupils directly via their welearn365 accounts to allocate time slots.
The schedule for remote meetings is as follows:
Wednesday 8 July
Pupils moving into Y3 and Y4 (current Y2 & Y3 pupils) – Miss Hancock will be leading the meeting.
Thursday 9 July
Pupils moving into Y1 (current Reception) – Miss Smith will be leading the meeting.

If you require any more information about the Microsoft Teams meeting please contact your child’s class teacher directly. Miss Brind will be organising the meeting for Miss Hancock so please contact her if you have any queries.

Fire safety
Attached is a letter regarding the importance of smoke alarms and fire safety, especially as we are all spending more time at home. It is important to have this safety advice and check we all have working smoke alarms.
