A round-up of the latest school news for week ending 21.05/2020.
Phased return to school
During the week a lot of work has been undertaken to discuss with staff and governors the steps needed to re-open the school for identified year groups and key worker children. Governors are meeting this evening to discuss the phased return to school for some pupils. A robust risk assessment has been undertaken so that a safe set of transitions can be put in place to ensure the safety of both the children and staff. Information on the steps we will take to address identified risks will be sent out to you in due course.
The school is working towards opening during the week commencing 1st June. However, this will be dependent on government guidance which is not due out until the 28th May, then we will make a decision as to whether we consider the school is safe to open for our children and staff.
School will not be open on 1st June as staff will be working towards ensuring health & safety measures are in place before welcoming back the children.
Teachers will continue to set weekly learning tasks in the same way as they have throughout the closure period for all of the children. Any children who are in school will complete the same tasks as any children who continue to learn at home. If a phased re-opening is confirmed, staff will not be able to provide the same level of support throughout the day for those learning at home as they have since the beginning of the closure period but they will, of course, still give feedback on all pieces of work uploaded via portfolios on ClassDojo.
As we have said before, please let us know if your child has had an upsetting experience through the lock down so we can support them when they come back to school.

From the week beginning 1 June 2020, at the earliest, we’ll be asking primary schools and childcare providers to bring back children in nursery, reception, year 1 and year 6.
As you all know it is half term next week so there will be no home learning set or sent home. Your individual class teachers may have given you some ideas for things to do over the holiday. We hope you all have a restful week, keep safe and lets hope the sun continues to shine.
