Weekly News – 23.04.20
A round-up of the latest school news for week ending 23/04/2020.
Weekly News
I hope you all had a restful Easter break and welcome to our very first remote summer term!
We’ve all had to adapt to new ways of working, so I wanted to take the opportunity to say what a great job you are doing supporting your child’s well-being and learning over recent weeks.
It’s definitely been a strange and challenging time, so your child may feel wobbly and worried at the moment. Remember, if you have any concerns about helping your child learn or you need any other support from the school, please let us know by contacting either your child’s class teacher via Class Dojo or through the school office admin account at admin5201@welearn265.com
We all miss the children, our normal work routines and coming together as a community very much but are following the government’s guidance to keep everyone safe. As you know, the Wolverton site in not open as we have joined with Claverdon Primary School to provide care for the children of key workers. If you require care provision for your child then please email the school office on admin5201@welearn365.com or phone the school mobile number 07881 010552 to inform us so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
Your children will have lots of new learning activities that they can access over the summer term. These are being sent out to you weekly via Class Dojo from class teachers. It is important that the children keep up with these tasks so that they maintain good learning habits and don’t fall behind their peers. If you have any difficulties accessing materials please let us know.
We can’t say yet when we’ll be able to open the school fully, but rest assured that we’ll continue doing our utmost to keep your child learning and our school community connected.
Below is a link to a government document called ‘Supporting your children’s education during Coronavirus (COVID-19)’. This gives advice for parents and carers looking after primary school children at home.

Music lessons – Autumn term 2020
Music lessons for Years 2 to 6 will be continuing in September. Piano with Julian Grimshaw and Guitar and flute with teachers from the Warwickshire Music Hub. Next week we will be sending out forms for you to complete to request to continue or start music lessons.
We are aware that children will have missed their music lessons at the end of the Spring term. Due to the way the weeks are charged for (11 weeks per term) the last lesson would have taken place during week commencing 23 March so only 1 lesson was missed. This lesson will be credited in the Autumn to those children who are carrying on with their lessons and for those children who will not be carrying on this will be refunded once we return to school.
