Board of Governors
We have Foundation status, with the Board of Governors responsible for the running of the school within the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.
Message from the Chair
The Governing Body at Wolverton draws on an excellent blend of parental experience and specialist knowledge and skills to support the school in a number of ways. We:
- Ensure that the school’s performance continually improves through regular monitoring and evaluation
- Work closely with the Headteacher and leadership team to provide strategic direction for the school
- Play a key role in the development, review and approval of policies
- Oversee the financial management of the school
Our Governors discharge their responsibilities diligently acting together to ensure that Wolverton Primary School meets its legal requirements in a manner consistent with our Guiding Principles. Most importantly, we are here because we care for our school and want it and all our children to succeed. Our governors are always willing to listen to all members of the school community.
We meet four times a year as a full governing body. We have two committees – Performance and Standards, and Resources – each of which meets once a term.
Our Governors serve a term of four years on the full board, together with a sub-committee. Occasionally the need also arises for various working parties, e.g. fundraising committee, parental questionnaire working party.
None of our Governors have declared any of the following which may influence their governing role:
- Business Interest
- Financial Interest
- Governance role in another school
